The Generate GC Program is designed to support the development of artists working in any artform on the Gold Coast, seeking to develop their creative acumen through the generation of ideas within community and place.

Successful applicants join a cohort of local creatives, connect with established artists on the Gold Coast, and get support to expand their artistic practice. They also participate in two intensive labs featuring presentations, panels, and workshops led by industry leaders, aimed at expanding and provoking ideas.

A competitive application and selection process is undertaken by the Generate GC team and the City. Successful applicants are paid a fee to participate in the labs and may be eligible for additional funding to support a Research and Development phase which includes partnership and presentation scoping, grant writing support, and ongoing mentorship with the Program Producer.

Situate Art in Festivals supports outstanding early and mid career artists and creative practitioners to develop new experimental artworks for the festival environment.
