Dylan SHERIDAN

(TAS)

Dylan Sheridan is a composer and artist based in Tasmania, Australia. He is interested in expanding theatrical aspects of concert music through the rhythmic counterpoint of sound, light and movement. His works typically incorporate custom built instruments, electronics, objects and software, and are presented in increasingly unconventional forms and settings - from concert halls and theatres to gunpowder magazines and car washes. In 2019 he presented empty orchestra - his first solo show in a white cube gallery at Contemporary Art Tasmania.

Dylan's works have been nominated for several awards and prizes, and in 2017 he received a Green Room award for Crush (with Sam Routledge) in the Contemporary and Experimental Sound Performance category. He is regularly commissioned to compose sound for dance, theatre, parades and festivals, and frequently incorporates interactive technologies. He has undertaken a number of national and international residencies including a two month Asialink residency at the Kyoto Arts Center. In 2020 Dylan will join Terrapin Puppet Theatre as an Artistic Associate where he will develop a new work with the company at Kinosaki International Art Center, Japan.
