Amelia POND (TAS)
Amelia, proudly raised in lutruwita (Tasmania), holds a BCA degree with a major in theatre from UTAS. Her dynamic career in live performance has been marked by collaborations with renowned Australian artists, such as director Benjamin Winspear in the premiere season of Hilary Bell's 'Perfect Stranger' (2020) and performances with Willoh S. Weiland and JR Brennan at 'Faux Mo' for MONA FOMA (2019, 2020).
Amelia's versatility shines through her work as an emerging artist on 'Soliloquy' with Rising Phoenix Studios (2021-2022) and her co-writing and co-directing role in 'Panopticon III' at Dark Mofo (2019). In 2022, she was selected for ATYP's Fresh Ink National Mentoring Program for emerging writers, a testament to her growing impact in the theatre scene. Amelia's directorial debut of Philip Ridley's 'Radiant Vermin' earned her the prestigious Best Direction award at the 2023 Tasmanian Theatre Awards. Beyond the stage, Amelia has made appearances on-screen in featured extra work in Amazon Prime's TV series 'Deadloch' (2022) and ABC’s TV series ‘Bay of Fires’ (2023).
In addition to her extensive experience in performance art, Amelia is a multi-talented visual artist skilled in various mediums, including illustration, painting, photography, and digital art. Her diverse artistic pursuits reflect a commitment to pushing creative boundaries and exploring the intersection of different artistic disciplines. Amelia's rich background in both performance and visual arts positions her as a dynamic and innovative creator, ready to embark on new artistic adventures.
